Totally Exhausted and Midsummer "Celebrations"

Summer nights in Finland. It's barely ever dark this time of year. I posted this about three weeks ago on Instagram. It was around 10:30pm

I'm not too sure what has been bothering me recently but I have been so tired on a daily basis for these few weeks now.

Nothing has worked for me at work and because my job is physically rather demanding so I am dead tired once we call it a day. However, even on the weekends I have no energy to do anything else except staying home watching TV, for example. I used to do various things on my free time like reading books, drawing, painting or knitting. Even playing video games feels too bothersome.
I wish I had the energy to make it most of my spare time but apparently it's spent on staring TV or computer screen and thinking how much I have wasted time on doing nothing. I'm trying my best to see my friends and exercise but even that doesn't get my spirits up or make me feel more energized.
Whatever the reason behind this lack of energy, I hope it is nothing serious because I do already have enough things to worry about including my grandparents who are getting more and more sick and recently the other was diagnosed with Alzheimer. It is such a nasty illness making it so hard for the people close to the patient.
Or maybe it's just because I haven't spent a proper holiday in a long time. Luckily, this year I am going to have a one week holiday. Yay!

This one was posted one week later. It was also around 10:30pm. Such a big difference.

It was Midsummer Eve last Friday and I had a morning shift despite the fact that it is a common holiday in Finland. Typical Midsummer Eve celebrations in Finland include a huge amount of alcohol, barbecue, group of friends/relatives, bonfire (if possible) and staying awake till dawn.
First of all, I had to wake up at 5am to get to work on time so though I took rather long nap after work I was way too tired to stay awake till next morning. Second of all, the weather was bad - it was chilly and rainy all day long. So I was a good girl and had only few drinks before going to bed at 1am.
However, yesterday night we went a bit overboard with my sister. We had were having fun watching movies and without realizing it gulped down maybe a bit too many drinks. We both are the type not to drink much but sometimes it ends up like yesterday.
But yeah, most Finnish celebrations include lots and lots of alcohol which is quite sad when you think about it. It is almost like no here knows how to have fun without getting wasted and many social occasions expect you to behave like everyone else and so... the cycle is finished.

Do you celebrate the Midsummer? And I would really like to know what kind of things you do to celebrate it? I'm just curious. :)

Till next time!
